Friederike ZUCKER, born on February 22nd, 1915 in Brno/moravia/Austro-Hungarian Empire [Czech Republic] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Josef Zucker (merchant), lived in Vienna's 20th district, Greiseneckergasse 22/6, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 4th year of her studies and took courses in Romance languages and literature Studies. She had registered for the final viva voce ("Rigorosen") on October 8th, 1937 and had passed the first viva on October 31st, 1937. After the "Anschluss" she requested to continue and finish her studies in the context of the 2%-Numerus clausus of Jewish Students in the spring term 1938, but was rejected. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason, was no more allowed to take the last examination and was forced to leave the University of Vienna without graduation. She had to flee from Vienna and was lucky to be able to emigrate in time to England/Great Britain, where she lived in New Southgate in 1939. She died in the 1990s in Colorado and is buried in Mount Nebo Memorial Park, Aurora, Colorado/USA.
