Emanuel KLAFTEN (born on July 10th, 1892 in Brody, died on January 4th, 1971 in New York) was lecturer ('Dozent') for Geburtshilfe und Gynäkologie at the Medical School of the University of Vienna.
He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university on April 22nd, 1938. He was deported to the KZ Dachau and after his release he was able to emigrate to the USA. Lit.: MERINSKY 1980, 124-126; UB MedUni Wien/van Swieten Blog
