Edith FUCHS, born on March 10
th, 1919 in Dürnkrut/Lower Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Dürnkrut/Lower Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Isidor Fuchs (railway official), lived in Vienna's 3
rd district, Lustgasse 3/5. In the summer of 1937, she had successfully passed the secondary school-leaving examination (Reifepruefung/Matura) at the Bundesgymnasium in Vienna's 3
rd district, Kundmanngasse 20, and in the fall term of 1937/38 began to study at the Philosophical School in the 1
st year of her studies and took courses in Classical Philology and Ancient History, as well as in Art History and Psychology.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
