Edith Fuchs

Edith FUCHS, born on March 10th, 1919 in Dürnkrut/Lower Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Dürnkrut/Lower Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Isidor Fuchs (railway official), lived in Vienna's 3rd district, Lustgasse 3/5. In the summer of 1937, she had successfully passed the secondary school-leaving examination (Reifepruefung/Matura) at the Bundesgymnasium in Vienna's 3rd district, Kundmanngasse 20, and in the fall term of 1937/38 began to study at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of her studies and took courses in Classical Philology and Ancient History, as well as in Art History and Psychology. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
