Charlotte BÜHLER (nee MALACHOWSKI) (born on December 20th, 1893 in Berlin, died on February 3rd, 1974 in Stuttgart), wife of o. Univ.-Prof. Karl Bühler (university professor), was Pd. (ao. Prof.) for Psychology (Ästhetik und Jugendpsychologie) at the Philosophical School of the University of Vienna, founder of developmental psychology.
She was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost her position and was thrown out of the university in 1938. She was able to emigrate to Los Angeles/USA.
She was honoured at the University of Vienna in 1998 by naming one of the "Doors of rememberance" ("Tore der Erinnerung") at the Campus of the University of Vienna "Bühler-Tor" (door Spitalgasse next to Alserstrasse).
