Jakob NIWES, born on March 9th, 1913 in Tarnopol, Galicia/Austro-Hungarian Empire [later: Poland, today: Ternopil|Тернопіль/Ukraine] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Karö Niwes (merchant), lived in Vienna's 6th district, Mariahilfer Strasse 74b, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5th year of his studies.

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna ("Absolutorium" was certified on June 3rd, 1938).
