Elise NASSAU, born on January 22nd, 1915 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Johann Nassau (lawyer), lived in Vienna 8th district, Lange Gasse 14, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 3rd year of her studies.
Her father Dr. Oskar Nassau (1881-1940) was forced to close down his lawyers office in Vienna's 1st district, Sailerstätte 22, and was only allowed to practice as a "jewish consultant in the Ostmark" at his home address and died in 1940. Elise Nassau was deported in Vienna's 2nd district, Franz-Hochedlinger-Gasse 8 to Theresienstadt [Terezín/Czech Republic] on September 24th, 1942, and from there to Auschwitz [Oświęcim/Poland] on October 19th, 1944.
