Leopold MANTEL, born on March 3rd, 1916 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Johann Mantel (salesman), lived in Vienna's 20th district, Kaschlgasse 1/14, was enrolled finally in the fall term of 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 4th year of his studies (fall term 1937/38 was validated on February 8th, 1938).

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna ("Absolutorium" was certified on July 5th, 1938).

Leopold MANTEL was deported from Angers to concentration camp Auschwitz [Oswiecim/Poland] on July 20th, 1942.
