Fritz Hans MAHRER, born on February 8
th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Dr. Viktor Mahrer (senior physician, "Medizinalrat"), lived in Vienna's 5
th district, Reinprechtsdorfer Straße 57, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5
th and last year of his studies ("Absolutorium" was certified on July 18
th, 1938).
In 1938 he was forced to quit his studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reason after the takeover of power of National-Socialism. But after numerous incertainties he could finally finish his studies and graduated on July 21
st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a "Nichtarierpromotion", which included at the same time that he was banned from his profession.
Fritz Hans Mahrer as well as his father succeeded to flee from Austria to the USA after the so called "Anschluss" and survived.
