Ellen Ruth LIKWORNIK (married Pawlowitz), born on December 1st, 1919 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Pinkas Likwornik (ensurance official) and Gisela Likwornik, lived in Wien 12, Altmannsdorfer Straße 34, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of her studies and took courses in German and English language and literature Studies. She was forced to leave the university and could emigrate to Great Britain in December 1938, her brother Wolfgang Raphael could escape with a so called "Kindertransport" to England. Her parents could emigrate to Alsace. Ellen Ruth LIKWORNIK could not continue her studies in England, worked as housemaid and factory worker and finally found an occupation in the care sector as a hospital nurse as many female emigrants did. She returned to Vienna after the end of the war in September 1946 and married Dipl.-Ing. Kurt Roland Pawlowitz (1918-1989). As a so called "Mischling ersten Grades" he survived in Vienna but was forced to quit his studies in electrical engineering at the Technical School Vienna in 1940 and could only finish studies in mechanical engineering after the end of World War II on July 21, 1945. He than worked at the UNESCO in South-Korea, was author of technical textbooks and later became a teacher and director of a technical high school - "HTL" - in Vienna), in June 1947 their daughter Petra was born, 1951 their son Gregor. Ellen Ruth Pawlowitz (nee Likwornik) died on September 6, 2000 in Vienna.
