Jozef LEWI, born on March 4^th, 1919 in Moscow/Russia (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Łódź/Poland, citizenship 1938: Poland), son of Rafael (Rofas) Lewi (accountant), lived in Vienna's 2^nd district, Praterstrasse 70/8, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 1^st year of his studies.

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on July 11^th, 1938).
