Rebekka Alma LENZER, born on April 14th, 1912 in Czernowitz/Romania [Tscherniwzi/Ukraine] wasn't enrolled at the Philosophical School any more in 1938, but was preparing for the final exams ('Rigorosen'). She registered for the final exams in Chemistry on January 10th, 1938, and passed the first 'Rigorosum' on March 12th, 1938. Her dissertation '1. Über die analytische Verwendung von Alkylsulfinsäure. 2. Nachweis von Sulfo- und Sulfinsäuren sowie von Sulfonen. 3. Versuche zur analytischen Verwertung von 8-Oxychinolindisulfosäure' was accepted on January 27th, 1938, and she also passed the second 'Rigorosum' on March 3rd, 1938. She could finally finish her studies and graduated on July 21st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion', which included at the same time that she was banned from her profession.
