Gertraud Helga BAUMGARTL (married STEWARD), born on January 30th, 1919 in Vienna's 2nd district, Thugutstrasse 4/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Pressbaum/Lower Austria, Citizenship 1938: Austria), daughter of Oberforstrat Ing. Friedrich Baumgartl (1883-?, forest and domain administrator in Pressbaum) and Rosalie Baumgartl, née Mandel (1890-?), lived in Pressbaum, Hauptstrasse 46. In 1937, she had passed the school-leaving examination (Matura) at the Realgymnasium in Vienna 8, Albertgasse, and was last enrolled in the spring term of 1938 at the School of Philosophy in the 1st year and took courses in German and English language and literature studies.
In 1938 she was discriminated as a so-called "Mischling 1. Grades" (since her mother was considered Jewish under National Socialism) - although Roman Catholic - and was forced to quit her studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reason after the takeover of power of National-Socialism.
In July 1946 her daughter Sylvia Eunica was born in Vienna's 18th district and in April 1947 she married Harry S. Steward in Worcestershire, Kidderminster/England.
Gertraud Helga Steward, née Baumgartl, died in February 1999 in West Midllands, Sandwell, England.
