Hans KRAUS (born on November 28^th, 1905 in Triest, Kuestenland/Austro-Hungarian Empire [Trieste/Italy], died on March 6^th, 1996 in Gardiner, NY/USA) was 1938 unpayed scientific assistant ("wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft"), at the II. surgical university-clinic (head: Prof. Denk) at the Medical School of the University of Vienna.
 
Hans Kraus had studied medicine at the University of Vienna and graduated there on May 23^rd, 1930 an gained the academic degree of a "Dr.med.univ." (M.D.).

He was persecuted in times of Nazism for racist reason as a Jew and lost his position at the II. surgical university-clinic and was forced to leave the university. He had to flee from Austria and could emigrate to USA via Triest and arrived in New York on July 13^th, 1938.
