Walter KORNBLUETH-JUNGERMANN (later: KORNBLIT), born on November 1
st, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Stryi/Poland, Citizenship: Poland), son of Chaim Nathan Kornblueth (shopkeeper) and Ettel Rachel, nee Birnbaum, who remarried after the death of Chaim Nathan Kornblueth with Schoel Nusser Jungermann in 1921, who adopted seven year old Walter who got the surname Kornblueth-Jungermann. He lived in Vienna 2
nd district, Adambergergasse 8/7, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 5
th and last year of his studies ("Absolutorium" was certified on December 8
th, 1938).
After the takeover of power of National-Socialism in 1938 he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna but he succeeded in finishing his studies and graduated on December 16
th, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a "Nichtarierpromotion", which included at the same time that he was banned from his profession.
He had to flee from Vienna and could emigrate to Palestine [Israel]. He married his former fellow student
Dora Kollek (1918-2004), who was forced to quit her studies at the university for racist reason too. She was the cousin of the later mayorr of Jerusalem, Theodor "Teddy" Kollek (1911-2007). He got divorced from Dora Kornblit, née Kollek and remarried.
He lived in Israel und died in a motor car accident in Jerusalem in 1966.
