Kurt KELLNER, born on January 28th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Sigmund Kellner (blue-collar worker), lived in Wien 4, Schäffergasse 22, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 4th year of his studies and took courses in Physics and Mathematics. He registered for the final exams ('Rigorosen') on February 8th, 1938 and could continue his studies in the context of the numerus clausus of jewish students in spring term 1938, but then was no more allowed to take the final exams and could not graduate in Vienna.
In spring term 1938 he first went to Prague/Czechoslovakia and then on to Edinburgh/Great Britain where he successfully completed a PhD.
After that he took up a lectureship at Southampton University/UK then became a senior lecturer and after his retirement he was actively involved in the creation of a Cryogenics Institute at Southampton University.
He died in 1984 at the age of 70 from heart failure.
