Stephan JELLINEK (born on May 29th, 1871 in Prerau, Moravia (Austro-Hungarian Empire) [Přerov/Czech Republic], died on September 2nd, 1968 in Edinburgh, Scotland (Great Britain) was an extraordinary professor for electropathology at the Medical School of the University of Vienna with the commitment to give courses in electropathology and first aid in accidents with electricity at the Technical University Vienna
He earned his medical doctoral degree "Dr. med." at the University of Vienna in 1898, habilitated in electropathology in 1908 and became "Privatdozent" and became an extraordinary professor for electropathology in 1928. He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university in 1938.
He had to flee and was able to emigrate to Oxford/Great Britain in 1939 and could work at the Queen's College Oxford (emer. 1948).
Stephan JELLINEK returned to Austria, retired ("ao. Univ-Prof. i. R.") on May 31, 1948 and at the same time on July 16, 1948 guest-professor and gave lectures at the University of Vienna from time to time and also became a guest-professor at the Technical University Vienna 1951-1967.
