Kurt Egon HUTTRER (born on April 13^th, 1910 in Vienna, was assistant physician ("Hilfsarzt ohne Stip.") dermatological university-clinic (head: Prof. Leopold Arzt) at the Medical School of the University of Vienna. He had studied medicine at the University of vienna and graduated there on June 26^th 1936 (academic degree "Dr.med.univ.") Allthough protestant, he was persecuted in times of Nazism for racist reason as a Jew, lost his position in April 1938 and was forced to leave the university. He had to flee from Austria and could emigrate from Vienna via antwerp to the USA and arrived in New York on March 25^th, 1938. His parents did not succeed to flee in time: His father Julius Huttrer (1880-1944) was murdered in Concentration Camp in Ausschwitz/Poland in 1944, his mother Paula Huttrer, née Lambert (1884-1943) was deported from Vienna to the Ghetto Theresienstadt [Terezín] on October 9th, 1942 and died there in 1943. Kurt Egon Hutterer was naturalized, became a US citizen and changed his name to Charles Hunter.
