Peter BANK, born on May 16th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Paula and Max Bank (merchant), lived in Wien 7, Apollogasse 26, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Law School in the 3rd year of his studies (in the spring term 1938 he could continue his studies in the context of the Numerus clausus of Jewish Students until the end of the term). He was also enrolled at the University of World Trade in Vienna ("Hochschule fuer Welthandel", today: Vienna University of Economics and Business) - he was cancelled ("abgemeldet") there on June 10, 1938. In the end of June 1938 he could leave Vienna together with his parents and his sister Susanne and was able to emigrate to the USA, due to the help of the Jewish Community Vienna. He was naturalized and became US-citizen in 1942 and lived, together with his wife Elke and their daughters Eileen M. and Lorita L. in Springfield (Illinois) until 1946 and lateron in Los Angeles.
