Wilhelm HERZ, born on December 23rd, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Dr. Leo Herz (lawyer, deceased), lived in Vienna's 2nd district, Taborstraße 1/21b in 1937 and in Vienna's 5th district, Stolberggasse 9 in 1938, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 5th year of his studies ('Absolutorium' was certified on November 7th, 1938). After the takeover of power of National-Socialism in 1938 he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason without a chance to graduate. Allthough he was allowed to continue his studies in the context of the 2% numerus clausus of Jewish Students for the next few months, he had to leave the University of Vienna.
