Herbert Herzog

Herbert HERZOG, born on August 12th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), was the son of Hilda Herzog nee Stern (born on May 6th, 1891 in Vienna; teacher, father deceased). The family lived in Baden, Weilburgstrasse 5.
Herbert Herzog was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Law School in the 3rd year of his studies. He could flee to Great Britannia  but was interned there as "enemy alien" and was deported to Australia with the ship HMT "Dunera". On May 15th, 1942, his mother Hilda Herzog was deported from her address in Vienna 1st district, Marc Aurelstrasse 5/7, to Izbica, where she was murdered. After his release Herbert Herzog stayed in Australia and was naturalised in 1946.

He deceased in 1987 in Melbourne. where he was burried on November 8, 1987.
