Erich HENSEL, born on December 13
th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), died on June 4
th, 1999 in Vienna, son of Heza Hensel (public school teacher, deceased), lived in Vienna 16
th district, Erdbrustgasse 46/13. After he had graduated high school in 1933 he began to study at the Medical School of the University of Vienna - finally he was enrolled in the fall term 1938/39 in the 4
th year of his studies.
He was discriminated as a so called "Mischling 2. Grades" but could continue his studies at first - valid until revoked - and could even finish them and graduated on June 29
th, 1940.
Erich Hensel survived World War II in Vienna. He married in 1949 and became father of a son in 1959. He worked as chief physician in a hospital in Mödling near Vienna, where he also ran a private practice. Later he worked in Vienna, as head of the Department for Respiratory at the hospital in Steinhof and then of the nursing home of the hospital in Lainz.
