Hermann HELFGOTT, born on September 8
th, 1913 in Bosnia-Herzogovina/Austro-Hungarian Empire [later: Yugoslavia, today: Novo Miloševo/Serbia] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Beodra/Yugoslavia, Citizenship: Yugoslavia), son of Kolman Helfgott (cantor, merchant), lived in Vienna's 2
nd district, Obere Donaustrasse 89A/6, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 4
th and final year of his studies and took courses in History, Geography and Oriental Studies.
He registered for the final exams on December 3
rd, 1937 already and passed the first exam ('Rigorosum') on January 21
st and March 5
th, 1938. But then the examination procedure was interrupted and he could not finish his studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
