Erich HEFTMANN, born on March 9th, 1918 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Salo Heftmann (white-collar employee), lived in Wien 2, Pillersdorfgasse 8/13, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 2nd year of his studies
He emigrated to the USA in 1939 and could coninue his studies at the New York University in 1940 (1942 B.A. in Chemistry), and at the University of Maryland in 1942 and the University in Rochester in 1943 (1947 Ph. D. in Biochemistry) and later on became a biochemist in civil services.
