Abraham GRUENBERG, born on November 1st, 1893 in Kolomea/Poland [Kolomyja/Ukraine] studied Chemistry at the Philosophical School of the University of Vienna.
He wasn't enrolled at the Philosophical School any more in 1938, but was preparing for the final exams ('Rigorosen'). He could finally finish his studies with the dissertation 'Ueber die Nukleinsaeuren aus Krebsgewebe' and graduated on October 31st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion', which included at the same time that he was banned from his profession.
Abraham Gruenberg was deported from his apartment in Vienna 19th district, Grinzinger Allee 7, to the camp in Nisko [Poland] on Oktober 20th, 1939, where he died.
