Grete FRANK, born on March 29th, 1912 in Vienna wasn't enrolled at the Philosophical School any more in 1938, but was preparing for the final exams ('Rigorosen'). She registered for the final exams in Chemistry on October 25th, 1937, and passed the first 'Rigorosum' on November 6th, 1937. She presented her dissertation 'Analytische Studien. 1. Die Titration von arseniger Säure mit Jod in sauren Lösungen. 2. Nachweis von Thallium mit ammonikalischer Silbernitratlösung' on June 24th, 1938 which was accepted on July 4th, 1938, and she also passed the second 'Rigorosum' on July 11th, 1938. She could finally finish her studies and graduated on October 31st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion', which included at the same time that she was banned from her profession.
