Dr. med. Ernst FISCHER, born on August 20
th, 1887 in Prague, Behemia/Austro-Hungarian Empire [Praha/Czech Republic] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Friedrich Fischer (merchant, deceased), retired clerk of the Community of Vienna, lived in Vienna's 5
th district, Gartengasse 19, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 4
th and last year of his studies and took courses in Zoology.
He had previously studied medicine and had graduated on November 27
th, 1915 and gainesd the academic degree "Dr. med. univ.". First he worked in the care home ("Versorgungsheim") Vienna-Lainz, then from February 1924 as a hospital physician, then as a chief physician ("Primar") in the hospital Ybbs / Danube (Lower Austria). In 1934 he moved to Vienna, but then was no longer practicing as a physician, but rather began zoology studies at the University of Vienna.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
He died on April 17th 1940 in Vienna.
