Leopold ELSNER, born on May 5
th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Friedrich Elsner (civil servant) and Jeny Elsner, née Hauser, lived in Vienna's 13
th district, Weiglgasse 21/9, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1
st year of his studies and took courses in Chemistry and Physics.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he she was forced to quit his her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
Leopold Elsner was deported and died in Concentration and extermination camp Buchenwald, Germany, on February 14
th, 1941.
