Margarete Dimter

Margarete DIMTER, born on December 25th, 1897 in Braunau/Upper Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Braunau, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Otto Dimter (lawyer), lived in Vienna 8th district, Albertgasse 19/II/20, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of her studies and took courses in English and Romance languages and literature Studies. She was discriminated as a so called "Mischling 2. Grades" and she could continue her studies at first - valid until revoked. She succeeded in finishing her studies only after end of National-Socialism - on November 20th, 1947 with her final thesis (Dissertation): "Der Adjektivverbrauch bei Spenser" in English language and literature Studies (doctoral advisors: Havers, Castle). She died on November 22nd, 1974 in Vienna and is burried at cemetery Hernals in Vienna.
