Louis BYK, born on April 18
th, 1913 in Czernowitz/Romania [Tscherniwzi/Ukraine] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Karl Byk (merchant), lived in Vienna's 20
th district, Klosterneuburger Strasse 84/10, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 3
rd year of his studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he she was forced to quit his her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (Leaving Certificate ('Abgangszeugnis') was issued on June 22
nd, 1938).
He was deported to Auschwitz [Oswiecim/Poland] in 1942, where he died on September 29
th, 1942.
