Isidor CHARAP (later: Richard I. HERRUP), born on February 7th, 1916 in Tarnopol, Galicia/Austro-Hungarian Empire [later: Poland, today: Ternopil/Ukraine], (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Elias Charap (merchant) and Josephine, née Rosenbaum, lived in Vienna 2nd district, Novaragasse 17/16, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 3rd year of his studies (Leaving Certificate ('Abgangszeugnis') was issued on June 24th, 1938). In 1938 he was forced to quit his studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reason after the takeover of power of National-Socialism. He had to flee and emigrated to Great Britain in 1938 and went on to the USA in 1939. There he could continue his studies and graduate (B.S.) and became a pharmacist. He lived and worked in Pittsburgh, PA/USA. He was married to Sara Parker and they had three sons - Paul of WV, David and Mark of IL. He passed away on June 4th, 2003.
