Kurt WEINBERG (later WELLS), born on May 31st, 1915 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Heinrich Weinberg (blue-collar worker), lived in Wien 19, Rodlergasse 11, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 4th year of his studies (Leaving Certificate ('Abgangszeugnis') was issued on September 21st, 1938). In the spring term 1938 he could continue his studies in the context of the Numerus clausus of Jewish Students until the end of the term.
He was able to emigrate to Czechoslovakia where he married Teresa Munk in Prague, who also came from Vienna. Lateron the same year they emigrated to England. When Kurt Weinberg came to England he was sent to an internment camp on the Isle of Man until the war ended. Kurt Weinberg changed the surname from "Weinberg" to "Wells" and after the end of the war Kurt Wells worked on a farm and then as a carpenter. He could never continue his medical studies. Eventually he became a production manager for a Garment manufacturer in London. Later he and his wife opened two shops selling leathergoods which they ran until they retired. They lived near London and had a son, Peter.
Kurt Wells died in August 2008 in England.
