Isaja (Alexander Daniel) WASILKOWSKI (later: ALEXANDER), born on April 10th, 1915 in Białystok/Russian Empire [Białystok/Poland] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Białystok/Poland, citizenship 1938: Poland), son of Israel Josef Wasilkowski (merchant) and Nadzia Wasilkowska. He graduated from the High School in Białystok in 1936 and came to Vienna in 1938 to study medicine. He lived in Vienna's 9th district, Gruene Tor Gasse (today Gruenentorgasse) 18, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 1st year of his studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (spring term 1938 was validated on November 16th, 1938).
He later married a fellow medical student, Maria Aronowska (1919-1982), also from Białystok and expelled from the University of Vienna in 1938.
They had to flee Vienna and went back to Poland, later emigrating to Australia.
Alexander Daniel Alexander, born Isaja Wasilkowski, died in 2002 in Melbourne, VIC/Australia.
