Chaja TENCER, born on March 28th, 1913 in Będzin/Poland (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Będzin/Poland, citizenship 1938: Poland), daughter of Szaja Moszek Tencer (1873-1942, lived in Sosnowiec/Poland, died in the ghetto of Łódź/Poland) and Gitla Tencer, née Waldman (1872-1932), lived in Vienna's 8th district, Wickenburggasse 5/13, was last enrolled in the fall term of 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5th an dlast year of her studies ("Absolutorium" was certified on June 27th, 1938).
She succeeded in finishing her studies and graduated on June 28th, 1938 - because she was a citizen of a foreign country, she couldn't be restricted by the Nuremberg Race Laws but was banned from practicing medicine in the territory of the German Reich after completing her doctorate..
She married the American citizen Julian Garski (1913-?) in Stockholm/Sweden on November 4th, 1946
Chaja Tencer, died on August 28th, 2004 in Southbury, New Haven, CT/USA.
