Otto Peter BLITZ (later Peter Otto BLISS), born on January 7th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Emil Blitz (invalidity pensioner), lived in Vienna 8th district, Kochgasse 7/I/5, was enrolled finally in fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 2nd year of his studies and took courses in English language and literature Studies.
After the "Anschluss" Blitz was able to emigrate to London/Great Britain in March 1939, where an uncle lived. His parents remained in Vienna.
He received the British citizenship and changed his name to Peter Otto Bliss.
In 1939 he joined the British Army - Pioneer Corp and served until 1942, when he was invalided out of the army.
After he had done various jobs, be began to work with the American forces in Germany as a civilian in 1945. From 1950 on he worked in London for the French Travel service.
In December 1954 he married Annie Suzanne Simone Butel from France. Their son Christopher was born in 1957 in Wiesbaden/Germany, where Peter Otto Bliss worked for the US Air force since 1955.
In 1960/61 the family moved to London, where he worked for the US Navy in Grosvenor Square, London, until his death.
Peter Otto Bliss died of cancer in London in April 1975.
