Robert STECKLER, born on November 27th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Richard Steckler (merchant), lived in Wien 8, Albertgasse 19, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 5th year of his studies and took courses in Chemistry ('Absolutorium' was certified on May 16th, 1938). He succeeded in finishing his studies with his dissertation: 'Über kupplungsfähige thioindigoide Verbindungen aus stellungsisomeren 2-Naphthol-Monothioglykolsäuren' (doctoral advisors: Kailan, Späth) and graduated on July 21st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion', which included at the same time that he was banned from his profession.
