Walter SINGER, born on January 6th, 1919 in Stanislau, Galicia/Austro-Hungarian Empire [later: Stanisławów/Poland, today: Iwano-Frankiwsk|Івано-Франківськ/Ukraine] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Abraham Singer (merchant), lived in Vienna's 20th district, Leystrasse 23/11/19, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of his studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on April 7th, 1938).
He was deported to Auschwitz [Oświęcim/Poland] on April 19th, 1942 and died there on October 8th, 1942.
