Karl SCHMIDT (later: Charles SMITH, born on July 22nd, 1888 in Vienna, died on July 2nd, 1985) was private lecturer ("Privatdozent) for political economy ("Volkswirtschaftspolitik") at the Law School of the University of Vienna in 1938.
He had habilited in 1920 in political economy Er hatte sich 1920 at the Law School of the University of Vienna and lived in Vienna's 19th district, Blaasstrasse 30.
He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university on April 8th, 1938.
He had te flee vienna and was able to emigrate to the USA in 1941. He returned to Austria in 1948 and resided in Switzerland since 1949.
He died on July 2nd, 1985.
