Hans SCHAECHTER (later SCHACHTER), born on December 20
th, 1906 in Vienna/Austro-Hungarian Empire, as son of dentist Dr.med. Adolf/Abraham Schaechter. He was unpaid assistant ("unbesoldeter Hochschulassistent") at the dentistry institute (head: Prof. Hans Pichler) at the Medical School of the University of Vienna in 1938.
He had studied medicine at the University of Vienna and graduated there on December 23
rd, 1929 and became "
Dr.med.univ.". Since June 1
st, 1933 he was announced unpaid assistant ("unbesoldeter Hochschulassistent") at the Institute for Dentistry. He lived in Viennas 2
nd district, Heinestrasse 25/8, and also had his dentist practice there.
In the aftermath of the "Anschluss" he was fired for racist reason and was forced to leave the universty.He had to flee from vienna and could emigrate to Great Britain on March 17th, 1938, where he lived in Bromley/Kent wohnte and were he could soon restart to work as a dentist.
In England he soon became married to his Vienese colleague, the school dentist Dr.med. Edith Mahler (b. April 14
th, 1904) and also changed his family name to "Schachter".
