Gisela BERTYSCH (nee KLINGER), born on September 28th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria). She was the daughter of Ignaz Klinger (merchant) and was married to Max Bertysch, with whom she lived in in Vienna's 6th district, Hirschengasse 13/12 in autumn 1937 (in spring 1938 she mentiones again her fathers address in the inscription form: Vienna's 11th district, Geiselbergstrasze 60-64, house 3 in "Widholzhof", a communal housing of "Red Vienna"). She had finished highschool with an "Externistenmatura" in summer 1937 and started her medical studies at Vienna University in fall term 1937/38. She was enrolled finally in spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 1st year of her studies, before she was forced to leave the university for racist reason.
She was able to emigrate to Newsealand via France and Singapur in 1938, and to the USA in 1941. She could not continue with her studies and later worked in the management department of the City of New York/Public Housing.
