Herbert PAROLA, born on December 3rd, 1916 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Bernhard Parola (senior official 'Regierungsrat'), lived in Vienna's 5th district, Margaretenguertel 40, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Medical School in the 5th and last year of his studies. After the "Anschluss" in 1938 he was persecuted and discriminated for racist reasons as a so-called "Mischling 1. Grades" - although Protestant A.B. - but was able to continue his studies at first - valid until revoked. At the beginning of 1940 he was forbidden to continue his studies, the last two terms were not validated due to "lack of frequency" of the lectures and on February 20th, 1940, the leaving certificate was issued to him and he had to leave the university without graduation.
