Emil Parnas

Emil PARNAS, born on August 26th, 1911 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, citizenship: Austria), son of Joachim Parnas (salesman) and Chana Golde, lived in Vienna's 15th district, Grenzgasse 20, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 3rd year of his studies. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (leaving certificate was issued on May 18th, 1938). He had to flee from Vienna and could emigrate to the USA together with his brother, M.D. Jacob Parnas. They arrived in New York/NY on July 1st 1938. They were naturalized in 1944 and became American citizens. Emil Parnas died on March 19th, 1989 in Los Angeles, USA.
