Moses Mechel ADLER, born on December 14th, 1913 in Galicia/Austria-Hungary [later Wojniłów/Poland, today: Wojnyliw|Войнилів/Ukraine] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Wojnilow/Poland, citizenship 1938: Poland), was the son of Lina Adler (tradeswoman installment, later textile).
After passing his high school-leaving examination at the Realgymnasium in Vienna's 20th district, he began studying medicine at the University of Vienna in the fall term of 1934/35. Moses Adler was half-orphaned and lived with his mother first in Vienna's 20th district, Klosterneuburgerstraße 52, and from fall term 1936/37 in Vienna's 9th district, Clusiusgasse 1.

He was last enrolled at the Medical School in fall term 1937/38 in the 4th year of his studies (the fall term 1937/38 was credited to him as valid on February 10th, 1938, leaving certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") dated May 20th, 1938).

Under National Socialism he was forced to abandon his studies and leave the University of Vienna for racist reasons.
