Alfred Eidinger

Alfred EIDINGER, born on June 24th, 1909 in Radautz [Rădăuţi]/Romania (stateless), son of Nathan Eidinger (1879-1945, manufacturer) and Bertha née Fischler. They lived in Vienna's 1st district, Schubertring 3. He was enrolled finally in the fall term of 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5th and last year of his studies ("Absolutorium" was certified on March 30th, 1938).

He was no mre allowed to take the final examinations and to promote and was forced to leave the university.

Alfred Eidinger had to flee and he could emigrated, together with his parents and his two sisters, and spent the years during World War Two first in Switzerland and then in France, where his family was interned in Camp Drancy.

Alfred Eidinger lived in Nice in 1940 and tried to get a visa to the USA, but did not succeed. He joined the FTP-MOI (Francs-tireurs et partisans – main d’œuvre immigrée), an immigrant-organization of the "Résistance" with code name "Pierre Martin". In the biginning of 1943 he tried to hire a storage depot for arms of the Résistance but was betrayed, arrested and was fated to die from the French officials as a partisan and franctireur.

Alfred Eidinger was executed by French officials in May 26th, 1943 at the Ministry of the Air Force in Balard, Paris XV.
