Preamble

Following the advent of the National Socialist regime in the year 1938, more than 2,700 mostly Jewish affiliates of the University of Vienna were dismissed and subsequently driven away and/or murdered - lecturers, students and administration employees. Furthermore, over 200 people were stripped of their academic titles.

Blanka SATZ (married MOSCISKER), born on November 11th, 1914 [1917?] in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Josef Satz (merchant), lived in Vienna's 20th district, Karl-Meißl-Strasse 4/64, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 2nd year of her studies and took courses in History and Romance languages and literature Studies.

Her younger brother Jakob Satz, who studied at the Medical School, was also expelled from the University of Vienna.

She was able to emigrate to Great Britain on a domestic service permit (maid visa) and remained there. She married Theodor Moscisker and they had two sons, Arnold and Simon.
